AT SMTC, we recognize the importance of the young people in our community and our scholarship program was developed to support local students pursuing higher learning to help these individuals achieve their full potential. Since 2011, SMTC has awarded $27,500 in scholarships to 55 students.

Each year SMTC awards several $500 scholarships to local students who are intending to enter or have already entered a two-year or four-year college, including vocational and technical schools.

The SMTC Board of Directors selects the scholarship winners and preference will be given to applicants whose parents have subscribed to SMTC services or to students who plan to pursue a career in Telecommunications. However, all students are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship recipients will be presented with a certificate and a check that will be payable to the college of their choice. Recipient(s) and parents may be asked to sign a release to publish their photo and essay in local news outlets.
